A Walking Tour off the beaten track featuring more than 500 years of Viennese history.

Vienna is a metropolis with unique charm and flair. Once the centre of the Habsburg Empire, the city's long and fascinating history is reflected in architecture, music, art, lifestyle and traditions. Enjoy exploring the historical and cultural legacy of this city during a walking tour. Starting at the AKH, we meander through the streets and courtyards passing buildings of different architectural periods ending up at the National Library at the Hofburg itself. This tour will highlight the history and anecdotes of interest and especially focus on the "Palaisviertel", one of the "Grätzel" in Vienna that boasts an unmatched wealth of palaces. The palace - or palais, as the Viennese call it - remains an integral part of the city's urbanscape.

The tour ends at Michaelerplatz but you are welcome to return to the conference venue with one of our guides. We will also guide students participating in the Students Gathering to its location.
